External Job Description We are looking for a credit intern
for the Fox State and Local Government Affairs department. Our
department works on promoting and enhancing the Fox Entertainment
Group image within government at the state and local level. This
internship is a great opportunity to gain experience working in a
corporate environment and exposure in government and public affairs as
well as charitable contributions and how they both tie into the
corporate structure.
Project(s) Intern will be working on: Drafting letters and other
correspondence, updating Legislative binders, updating charitable
contribution documentation, updating data on key legislation(bills),
filing, faxing, copying & answering phones. Misc. special projects as
necessary.
Learning Objectives: Process of political interaction (how
corporations interact with the office of elected officials at both the
state and local level and the relationship between them); the process
by which charitable contributions are processed (how funding is
granted- making sure it fits within Fox's giving strategy); and
learning about the set-up of political structure (the different
departments and agencies) and the state and local level.
Qualifications: studies in Political Science, Public Affairs, Social
Sciences or Government Affairs preferred. Knowledge of MS Excel,
proficiency in PowerPt, and good organizational skills.
