Title: Summer Internship in State or Federal Public Policy
Description: Spend the summer working on public policy that promotes
free markets and individual rights during a ten-week paid
fellowship. The Charles G. Koch Summer Fellow program, offered by
the Institute for Humane Studies, is a great way to get involved
with organizations advocating public policy solutions that advance
liberty.
The fellowship begins with a one-week policy and career skills
seminar to provide the knowledge needed to excel in a policy
internship. Fellows will work for eight weeks at a state or federal
policy organization and participate in weekly policy lectures. The
internship concludes with a closing seminar where fellows present
group research projects and participate in policy challenges.
If your eager to bring market solutions to the state level, you can
work at a State Policy Network think tank in one of more than 34
states. Learn how to develop effective campaign strategies and
mobilize supporters. Publish editorials or letters in state or local
papers. Choose from organizations such as the Texas Public Policy
Foundation, Goldwater Institute, and Mackinac Center for Public
Policy.
If federal policy is your focus, intern at one of more than 40
Washington, DC, organizations protecting individual liberty. Choose
from organizations such as Americans for Tax Reform, Drug Policy
Alliance, Environmental Literacy Council, and the Cato Institute.
The intensive ten-week program begins in June and includes a $1,500
stipend and a housing allowance.
