Professor White departs Tuesday, April 22, to attend a meeting at the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) in Paris.  This 3rd Meeting of the Joint Network on Fiscal Sustainability of Health Systems will bring together senior budget officials and health policy officials from the OECD’s member nations, plus assorted scholars, to discuss how budget and health program officials might work together to better control health care costs – yet meet public demands for equitable access to care.  

Believe it or not, Joe finds this a quite exciting topic, as he is one of the few scholars who works in both fields.  He is presenting an overview paper on, “The Challenge of Budgeting for Health Care Programs.”  He expects to collapse after he gets to Paris Wednesday afternoon, spend all day Thursday and Friday conferencing, but then do some Paris exploration on Saturday.
