Kelly McMann continues to serve as subnational government project manager for Varieties of Democracy (V-Dem), a global collaboration that has produced 350 plus measures of democracy for all countries of the world from 1900 to the present, available at https://www.v-dem.net/en/.  V-Dem received the 2016  Lijphart/Przeworski/Verba Dataset Award from the American Political Science Association.  Using part of a 5.8 million USD grant V-Dem won from the Swedish Riksbankens Jubileumsfond, Professor McMann is studying democratization’s impact on corruption  and the role of subnational politics in the democratization process.
