Political Science Graduating Class of 2014 Win National, University, and Department Awards

The Political Science Department is proud to honor and recognize graduating majors.

Derek Reinbold is the recipient of the national NCAA Elite 89 Award for Men’s Tennis, The George T. Hunt Award to a Case Western Reserve University senior outstanding in leadership, scholarship and service, The Baker Nord Center for the Humanities Prize for excellence in a SAGES Capstone Project or Senior Project in the Humanities, The Muriel S. Butkin Art History Prize for overall best performance and highest GPA by an undergraduate Art History Major, and finally The Noel L. Butkin Award for the best term paper on an Art History topic written by an undergraduate student.

Anthony Gatti was awarded The Flora Stone Mather Alumnae Award for outstanding academic performance in Political Science and The WSOM Dean’s Achievement Award for excellence in scholarship and leadership in Economics.

Ellen Kubit was awarded the The Flora Stone Mather Alumnae Award for outstanding academic performance in Political Science and The Sojourner Truth Award to an outstanding student who combines academic excellence in Women’s and Gender Studies with commitment to community service, advocacy of women’s and gender-related issues and activism.

Margo Uhrman received The Flora Stone Mather Alumnae Award for outstanding academic performance in Political Science.

Steven Ureta received The Flora Stone Mather Alumnae Award for outstanding academic performance in Political Science.

Rosalie Candau received The Emile B. DeSauze Award for attaining the highest honors in Modern Languages and Literatures.

Elizabeth Vitale received the The History Department Award for outstanding achievement in History.
