Sharon Skowronski received her B.A. (major field English) from The Cleveland State University in 1975.  She began her CWRU employment in June of that year as an Administrative Secretary in the English Department.  She transferred to Political Science in January 1977, was promoted to Department Assistant I, and was further promoted to Department Assistant II when she took on administrative duties for additional departments Religion and Philosophy (October 1983-January 1985); Classics (January 1985-July 1985); Classics and Religion (July 1985-present); continuing her services to Political Science throughout.  She is now Department Assistant III.  Her educational background was utilized when she served as a contributor and Assistant Editor to Political Parties of Europe, 2 vols., The Greenwood Historical Encyclopedia of the World's Political Parties (Westport, Conn.: Greenwood Press, 1983; also London: Aldwych Press, 1983), Vincent E. McHale, editor-in-chief.  Over the years Sharon has added computer applications to her repertoire of administrative skills and now spends nearly all of her office time in front of a computer -- when not busy answering the usual multitude of questions from faculty and students.  In the past Sharon has been nominated for the President's Award for Distinguished Service.  Away from campus Sharon enjoys traveling, reading, gardening, and the various resources in the Cleveland Metroparks and the Cuyahoga Valley National Park.
