Professor Childs’ most recent work focuses on women and gender in the British Conservative Party, and on gender, conservatism, and political representation. Her research has appeared in Party Politics, Politics & Gender, and Political Studies, among other scholarly journals.
A question-and-answer session will follow Professor Childs’ lecture, which is open to the CWRU community and to the public.
Professor Childs is the author of Women and British Party Politics (Routledge 2008), New Labour’s Women MPs: Women Representing Women (Routledge 2004), and, with Paul Webb, Sex, Gender, and the Conservative Party: From Iron Lady to Kitten Heels (Palgrave Macmillan 2012).
