During the past month, Professor Pete Moore has been in the United Arab Emirates (Abu Dhabi and Dubai) conducting research on the fiscal crises in the Gulf. For more about his time there, check out his blog article, “Boom, Bust and Boom in Dubai.”
While there, he gave a lecture in Warsaw to the Polish Military Special Forces, about instability in the Middle East. This lecture was part of the US Army’s Leadership Development and Education for Sustained Peace Program. The LDESP was established in 2001 and “provides graduate level education for military and civilian leaders to establish a regional, geopolitical, and cultural framework for understanding the challenges of conducting full spectrum operations in unique and rapidly changing environments. The program executes distance learning courses and seminars to cultivate skills and promote whole-of-government approaches to achieve unity of effort in countries and regions around the world.” For more information about the program click here.
