Dear Colleagues:
The Spring, 2013 presentations of Political Science senior projects will be held on Monday, April 22, in Clark Hall from 5 p.m. to 8:15 p.m. (roughly).
All students who are doing POSC 396 this term; or are using INTL 398 as their SAGES capstone and the POSC event as the location for their capstone presentation, must participate. So circle the date on your calendars!
The format will be like at an academic conference. Students will be organized into panels of 4 or 3 papers. Each will present her or his paper with a 10-minute talk, and then there will be 5-10 minutes of questions from other panelists and the audience. The audience will consist of other students who are presenting that evening, Political Science faculty, and such guests as students invite.
There will be two panels at 5:00 p.m. Around 6:15 we will break for buffet dinner in the Baker-Nord room, Room 206. We will reconvene and do two more panels around 7 p.m. We plan to use Clark 308 and Clark 210 as the rooms for the presentations. All participants are expected to attend the entire event. That way, the people who present earlier can be audience for those presenting later, and vice versa.
It is best if panels involve papers with some similarity among topics. Unfortunately, we do not have titles for all the projects. I will e-mail students separately to request titles where I do not have them.
Please contact me or your project advisor if you have any questions about the event. And I look forward to a set of interesting presentations.
Best regards,
Joe White
