Meet with POSC Professor Zeren as Assistant Director for Student Experience

Bio: Aysegul Keskin Zeren, Ph.D. is a conflict resolution and non-violent communication specialist. Aysegul has been at CWRU since 2022, teaching conflict resolution and human rights courses as an Adjunct Assistant Professor at the Political Science Department. She has over a decade-long experience in teaching courses and delivering trainings on communication skills and empathy, conflict resolution methods like negotiation and mediation, and conflict coaching. During her career, she supported and coached undergraduate and graduate students, non-profit professionals, and community leaders on various academic and career decisions and workplace conflicts. She worked at several institutions such as the Peace, Justice, and Human Rights Program at John Carroll University, the Kroc Institute for International Peace Studies and Mendoza College of Business at the University of Notre Dame, the Center for Applied Conflict Management at Kent State University, and Cuyahoga Community College. Aysegul holds a Ph.D. in Political Science from Kent State University and M.A. in Conflict Analysis and Resolution from Sabanci University in Turkey.

Prepare for the summer and next fall’s career fair by meeting with them to learn about job search strategies, find tactics to make networking more effective, and receive interview practice. Additionally, she can assist with career planning, identify internships and full-time job opportunities, and show you how to navigate Handshake and the Alumni Career Network. Also, we will be offering career lab sessions up until finals week for you to receive resume and cover letter feedback.
PGPEE is also open this summer and the team will be eager to meet with students virtually or in-person to assist with questions.
There are two different ways in which students can schedule appointments with PGPEE:
First option
  1. Log into MyJourney
  2. Scroll down until you see “Career & Internship Consultant” listed under the “Schedule with Departments” option on the right hand side of the page and click on that option. Or, if you are looking for someone else within The Career Center, such as an International Student Career Specialist, select that option instead.
  3. Click on “schedule an appointment”
  4. Choose your Career Interest Area (CIA) and then press “+” for more information
  5. Select a topic
  6. Select a date and time and format (in-person, Zoom, phone etc)
  7. Leave a note about what you want to talk about
  8. Confirm appointment (you will receive an automated confirmation note via email)
Second option
  1. Log into MyJourney
  2. Press the big blue button that says “schedule an appointment”
  3. Click on “Teams”
  4. Select “Career & Internship Consultant. Or, if you are looking for someone else within The Career Center, such as an International Student Career Specialist, select that option instead.
  5. Choose your Career Interest Area (CIA) and then press “+” for more information
  6. Select a topic
  7. Select a date and time and format (in-person, Zoom, phone etc)
  8. Leave a note about what you want to talk about
  9. Confirm appointment (you will receive an automated confirmation note via email)

FYI. Graduating students will still retain their email addresses, but will not have a Gmail inbox. Your emails will be forwarded to another personal email.
